Rivers United forward, Nyima Nwagua has claimed that playing against his former club, Kano Pillars, gave him mixed feelings.
The Pride of Rivers won a crucial away match at Ahmadu Bello Stadium, with Nwagua netting the game’s only goal in the 70th minute.
Nyima Nwagua showed great awareness as he robbed goalkeeper – Idris Ibrahim off the ball and slots home the game-winner. After scoring against his old side, he did not celebrate.
Nwagua described the encounter as being like battling against one’s own shadow.
“It was more like mixed feelings for me because it looks as if I was playing against my shadow. Pillars is where I played before and I won FA Cup for them and I spent most of my best moment with them. But I tried to stay calm and I was happy to stay calm till 90 minutes,” he told BSNsports.
