Kwara United’s head coach, Kabiru Dogo, remains undisturbed by the three-game ultimatum issued to him by the management of the NPFL club.
The coach has expressed confidence in his position, dismissing the ultimative demand as part of the game’s internal politics, Footballrover reports.
Despite the team’s recent 2-1 loss against Kano Pillars at the General Sani Abacha Stadium, Coach Dogo praised his players’ performances.
Mohammed Aminu and Ibrahim Yuga scored for Kano Pillars, while Emmanuel Ogole secured a consolation goal for Kwara United.
Initially taking the lead with Emmanuel Ogole’s goal just 13 minutes into the match, the Harmony Boys saw the game turn as Aminu equalized just before halftime, followed by Yuga’s winning goal at the final whistle.
Coach Dogo reaffirmed his resolute dedication to Kwara United, emphasizing the club’s deep ties to Ilorin and urging the club’s leadership to offer more support for the team’s continuous success.
In his post-match interview, the coach said:
“As far as I’m concerned, how can I have an ultimatum in my home? But it’s all about the politics of the game. I’m not under pressure; nobody can remove me from Ilorin.”
Having won one and lost one of the three games within the ultimatum, Kwara United currently sits in 12th position with 19 points, only three points clear of the relegation zone.
Looking ahead, Kwara United gears up to face Lobi Stars in their upcoming NPFL fixture at the Kwara Sports Complex, Ilorin, aiming to turn the tide in their favor.
Another crucial tie for Dogo to prove himself, especially to home fans.
