Geoffrey Chinedu wasted no time making an impact as he powered FC Astana to a commanding 2-0 away victory over FC Kyzylzhar in the Kazakhstan Premier League.
The 27-year-old forward opened the scoring just 11 minutes into the game at the Tobyl Arena, setting the tone for a dominant display.
Chinedu didn’t stop there—he later provided the assist for Astana’s second goal, sealing the victory and earning him the Man of the Match award.
The win propelled Astana to second place in the league standings after drawing their season opener.
Rasheed Akanbi, Bamidele Yusuf, and Gabriel Chiemezie deliver late drama
Rasheed Akanbi continued his fine form for FC Sheriff in the Moldovan National Division, scoring deep into stoppage time to wrap up a 3-0 win against Spartanii.
The 25-year-old came off the bench to feature for just ten minutes but made his presence felt, netting his fifth goal of the season in the 94th minute at the Krytyj futbolnyj Manesh.
His goal secured Sheriff’s top spot in the championship round.
Meanwhile, in the Serbian SuperLiga, Bamidele Yusuf was the hero for FK Vojvodina, scoring the match-winning goal in the 73rd minute to secure a hard-fought 1-0 victory over FK Jedinstvo at the Karađorđe Stadium.
With this crucial strike, Yusuf has now recorded 11 goals and two assists in 25 appearances this season, helping his team climb to sixth place with 39 points.
In the Malta Premier League, Gabriel Chiemezie delivered another late winner as Mosta FC edged Hamrun FC 2-1 away from home.
The 19-year-old forward struck in the 78th minute at the Hibernians Ground, sealing three valuable points for his side.
The win lifted Mosta to sixth place in the table with 13 points from nine games, just one point behind their opponents.
