His goal not only kept the Gunners’ perfect record intact in the Premier League 2 season but also revealed the potential of this young Nigerian, Footballrover reports.

Butler-Oyedeji, who was recently named the Premier League 2 Player of the Month for August, struck in the 96th minute, sealing all three points for Arsenal in the dying moments of the match.

Despite a strong opening from the young Gunners, they faced a tough challenge against a resolute Stoke defence that successfully thwarted their numerous attempts to score.

The 21-year-old forward had a quiet game until the very end, having received a booking in the 82nd minute.

However, he refused to let that setback deter him.

Butler-Oyedeji capitalised on a well-placed assist from Michał Rosiak, slotting the ball home with precision and celebrating a moment that could define his season.

With this victory, Arsenal remains on top of the league table, boasting a perfect record of four wins from four matches, with 12 points, closely followed by West Ham.

Butler-Oyedeji has emerged as a constant performer for the North London side, with five goals and two assists to his name in just four appearances this season.

A product of Arsenal’s youth academy, Butler-Oyedeji joined the club at the tender age of eight.

Having trained multiple times with the first team, the Nigerian-born youngster is eager to prove himself at the highest level.

Seeking more game time, he went on loan to Accrington Stanley in January 2023 and then to Cheltenham Town in September 2023.

And with performances like this, Butler-Oyedeji is not just chasing goals; he’s on a mission to impress Mikel Arteta—a move that might see him carve out a spot for himself in the first team.

One thing is for certain anyway—Butler-Oyedeji is a name to watch this season.
