Nigerian Duo's Premier League Despair Deepens: Winless Streak Reaches Six

It was indeed frustrating Monday night football for the Nigerian duo, especially Joe Aribo, who took to the pitch but couldn’t turn the tide for Southampton as their winless run continues after succumbing to a 3-1 defeat against Bournemouth in the Premier League.

This loss marks yet another disheartening chapter in the club’s struggle, as they remain rooted at the bottom of the league table without a single victory in their last six games, Footballrover reports.

Their only success so far this season came from an earlier win over Cardiff in the EFL Cup, where they triumphed with a thrilling 5-3 scoreline.

Aribo’s efforts fall short amid team struggles

Aribo, who entered the game just before resumption of the second half, made his presence felt in the midfield.

During his 45 minutes on the pitch, he recorded an impressive 49 touches and delivered 30 accurate passes.

Despite his contributions, including one shot and strong defensive plays, where he blocked one shot, made three recoveries, and won three ground duels, the overall team performance left much to be desired.

With this defeat, the pressure mounts as the squad continues to seek their first Premier League win of the season.
