Niger Tornadoes’ midfielder, Chidiebere Ernest, had issued a bold challenge to Nigeria Premier League rivals, Doma United, ahead of their upcoming clash on matchday 11, confidently predicting an end to the hosts’ unbeaten run.

Ernest expresses strong optimism regarding his team’s potential to secure a favourable outcome in the fixture against Doma United, Footballrover reports.

The game, scheduled for Saturday at Pantami Stadium, sees the undefeated Savannah Tigers host the Ikon Allah Boys.

Speaking to the club’s media, Ernest reveals the team’s high motivation for the match.

He credits their recent victory against Akwa United as a driving force, applauding the collective effort of the technical crew, management, and colleagues in achieving their goal.

“Coming to this weekend’s tie against Doma United, the mentality is still the same: to go in there and prove our mettle. We have played some really good games on the road this season, but luck only deserted us. We are going to put in extra effort to be able to get something out of this game,” the midfielder said.

Recognising Doma United’s strength and discipline, Ernest highlights his team’s own competitive edge.

He asserts confidence in their ability to face any opponent in the league.

“Gombe fans are passionate lovers of the round leather game; it’s a massive football-loving environment, and the support is helping the two clubs in the state,” the Niger Tornadoes midfielder concluded.

It’s worth noting that last season, Doma United clinched a 2-1 victory over Niger Tornadoes, and this season, the Savannah Tigers remain unbeaten at home and have yet to concede a goal.
