In the aftermath of a disappointing defeat to Akwa United, interim head coach Majin Mohammed of the Niger Tornadoes is rallying his team’s spirits for a crucial must-win clash against Doma United this Sunday in the Nigerian Premier Football League (NPFL).
The Ikon Allah Boys endured a tough 4-1 loss against hosts Akwa United on Wednesday, a setback that has prompted Coach Mohammed to call for a reset and a renewed focus on the upcoming challenge against Doma United, Footballrover reports.
Addressing the team on Thursday, Coach Mohammed admitted to the below-par performance in Uyo and its impact on the outcome, expressing disappointment in falling short of the fans’ expectations.
However, he emphasised the resilience inherent in football, urging his players to view the forthcoming match as an opportunity for redemption and a chance to showcase their true capabilities.
“We must put aside the disappointment and concentrate on the imperative of securing victory against Doma United,” Coach Mohammed stressed.
The Niger Tornadoes will face off against the Savannah Tigers in a crucial matchday 31 fixture at the iconic Ahmadu Bello Stadium in Kaduna on Saturday.
Currently occupying the 10th spot on the league table with 39 points from 29 games, the Minna Boys are determined to reverse their fortunes, especially considering their recent record against Doma United, having secured just one victory in their last three encounters.
