The Nigeria Football Federation, NFF has approved the evaluation report and sanction of the Referees for Rivers United vs Wikki Tourist clash over poor officiating during their league game.
This came after a player for Wikki Tourist was denied a clear goal he scored during their league match against Rivers United.
The regulatory body for football in Nigeria has urgently approved a set of punishments laid out to several referees from the nation’s top league, the NPFL.

The stamp of approval followed a review by the Referee Appointment Committee of the NFF, which was chaired by Mrs. Faith Irabor.
In an effort to guarantee that the match officials upheld a moral personality and the ethics of their profession in the Nigerian league, the NFF verified the approval of the report in a statement from its communication department.
After the Wikki Tourist goal was ruled to be offside, all of the officials for the Week 5 encounter between Rivers United and the Bauchi Boys, including Taiwo David, the center referee, have been asked to stand down and never to handle any game in the NPFL again.

The three Match Officials of this game are: Referee Taiwo David from Oyo, AR1 Charles Isua from Adamawa and AR2 Akinsanya Segun from Oyo are to stand down from the league.
Meanwhile, the center referee and assistant referee 2 for the match between Lobi Stars and Sunshine Stars – Promise Amadi and Lewis Gwatana has also been ordered to step down from their positions.
The NFF has approved the decision and they will no longer serve as a referee in the NPFL.
Otuwho Morrison, the second assistant referee, would no longer be officiating the league match between Shooting Stars Sports Club and Kwara United FC.
