Like the popular saying goes “No be Juju be that”? Well, this time around, Nasarawa United wants to make sure that its a different case as the team have opted to abandon the New Jos Stadium because they are sick of losing there.
Nasarawa United have now chosen to play their home games at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium in Kaduna instead of the New Jos Stadium following a record of home losses in Jos.
Recall that the team chose the Jos Township Stadium as their home field when the new league kicked off as a result of renovations being executed at their Lafia City Stadium.
The Solid Miners were defeated by African Champions – Enyimba in their season opener, which the Aba Boys won 2-1, before falling to Akwa United 3-0 in their second home game.
Footballrover understands that the change would be effective starting with matchday five, which will be played on Wednesday, February 1, 2023 versus Plateau United.
According to NPFL News on Twitter;
“Following a string of home defeats in Jos, the Nasarawa United have dumped the New Jos Stadium for the Ahmadu Bello Stadium, Kaduna. The relocation will take effect from match day five.”

Prior to that, the Mohammed Baba Ganaru Boys will play Gombe United on the road at the Gombe Township Stadium pantami in an effort to earn their first victory of the 2023 NPFL campaign.
The Lafia Boys have failed to pick up a victory this season after losing their first three 2023 NPFL fixtures to Enyimba, Akwa United, and El-Kanemi Warriors, respectively.
Meanwhile, the team’s management, coaching staff have been given three-game ultimatum to save the club from their current relegation situation.
These are the three games the team will battle in those three games;
vs Gombe United in Gombe
vs Plateau United (venue not decide yet)
vs Shooting Stars in Ibadan
