The Nasarawa Amazons players received cash reward of N700,000 for their impressive victory against Naija Ratels during the Nigeria Women’s Football League’s first matchday.
This reward was handed out by key figures including the Nasarawa State Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Jafaru Ango, alongside the Permanent Secretary, Isaac Danladi, and the Football Association Chairman, in recognition of the team’s performance.
The Amazons also received generous support from Salisu Galadima (Basira), the Chairman of the Nasarawa State Football Association, who backed them with a total of Three Hundred Thousand Naira (N300,000.00).
He contributed One Hundred Thousand Naira (N100,000.00) for every goal scored.
Meanwhile, Hajiya Hussaina Suleiman Nagogo, the Chairperson of the Club and Vice Chairman of the Nigeria Women’s Premier Football League Board, also showed her support by contributing One Hundred Thousand Naira (N100,000.00) to the victorious team.
This exciting event led to the two-time Nigeria Women’s elite league winners taking home a grand total of Seven Hundred Thousand Naira (N700,000.00) due to the generosity of these individuals.
The match, held at the Aguyi Ironsi Mini Stadium in Abuja, saw Nasarawa Amazons triumph with a 3-1 score in their opening campaign game, Footballrover reports

Nora Davis scored the lone goal for the host team, while Ebi Onome marked her return after a 13-year absence from the NWFL with a noteworthy goal.
Looking ahead, Nasarawa Amazons are refocusing as they prepare to face Heartland Queens in their upcoming NWFL match.
