Chelsea secured European football for next season with a 2-1 victory over Bournemouth, thanks to the incredible and jaw-dropping halfway-line goal scored by Moises Caicedo in the thrilling finale of the Premier League season.

Caicedo, who joined Chelsea from Brighton & Hove Albion last summer in a £115 million deal, has faced intense pressure from fans this season.

However, his impressive progress in the last few matches has mirrored the team’s recent improvement under Mauricio Pochettino’s leadership.
According to Optajoe, the 22-year-old midfielder’s exceptional goal, which came from 57.7 yards out, is the furthest scored in a Premier League game since Wayne Rooney’s strike for Everton in November 2017.
Chelsea’s fifth consecutive Premier League victory ensured a sixth-place finish and a spot in the Europa League, pending the outcome of the FA Cup final between Manchester United and City on May 25.
If United wins, Chelsea will secure a Conference League spot.
Caicedo’s goal, his first for the club, was a fitting end to his debut campaign in West London.

Caicedo, who was quoted by the Premier League’s official website, claimed,
“I had the possibility to shoot, and I did. I just wanted to try; I didn’t look at my teammates. I just wanted to shoot.”
Raheem Sterling added a second goal just after the break, and although Enes Unal pulled one back for Bournemouth, Chelsea held on for a well-deserved win.
This victory marks a remarkable turnaround for the team, which had been struggling earlier in the season.
