As Mohamed Salah broke the record for most goals scored by a single player for Liverpool since Premier League’s existence, there was excitement at Anfield for both the club and the Egyptian magician, who claimed to be honoured.
The Red’s 7-0 historic humbling of Manchester United was a striking masterpiece with Mohamed Salah and Cody Gakpo occasionally being unstoppable all through the game.

There was much to applaud the African star for, following Liverpool’s resounding defeat over Erik Ten Hag’s team at Anfield on Sunday.
– Salah won the game’s MVP award after scoring twice and surpassing Robbie Fowler’s record of 128 goals in the Premier League for Liverpool.
– In 61 fewer appearances than Fowler, his first goal of the encounter—an assertive right foot strike from the edge of the box—put him on par with him.
– He also became the first player in Liverpool history to score in five straight league games against Manchester United with the goal as well.
While speaking on breaking the record, the Egyptian admitted that he can’t lie, that it’s very important to him, and that he’s been thinking about this record ever since he arrived at Anfield.
The 30-year-old forward is still far from breaking Alan Shearer’s record of 260 goals for any club in the Premier League.
Yet if he keeps up his current pace, he will at least become Liverpool’s second-leading scorer all-time in any competition.
With all excitement and joy, Mo Salah wrote on his social media page;
“An extraordinary day for all Liverpool fans. I’m honoured to keep making history with this great club.” – he said.

Meanwhile, Robbie Fowler, the man whose milestone was broken, congratulated Mo Salah on his achievement on social media after the game.
Salah’s aggregate of 178 goals puts him well behind Ian Rush’s total of 346 goals throughout all competitions for Liverpool.
