Michy Batshuayi’s career at Chelsea finally came to an end following the completion of a permanent transfer to Fenerbahce on Friday evening,
The Blues were able to capture the Belgian striker in 2016, despite fierce competition from London rivals Tottenham and West Ham.
But then, his move to Stamford Bridge has been been a dream one as he was only occasionally utilized during his tenure at Chelsea and spent the majority of that time on loan.
Michy Batshuayi, however, did score the goal that handed Chelsea the 2016–17 Premier League trophy and was a member of the team that won the FA Cup the following year.
After spending the previous season on loan at Besiktas, he has now officially moved to Fenerbahce, and he is very eager to get started on his new journey.
Batshuayi quickly switched to Fenerbahce as the Turkish league’s transfer window is still open for a longer period of time than the English one.
Last season, Batshuayi scored 14 goals in 42 appearances for the Istanbul rival team, while playing on loan at Besiktas.
🗣 “Very proud & happy to sign for Fenerbahce. A new chapter in my career, in a country and a city that I already know, but with new colors that I will give everything for. I’m more than ready for it, thank you for the messages & support.” – he said.

The forward’s best moment while donning a Chelsea jersey was in May 2017, when his goal against West Bromwich Albion helped them win their fifth Premier League title at the end of his first season in west London.
He scored another memorable late goal in his second season, helping the Blues defeat Atletico Madrid on the road, before spending the second part of the season on loan at Borussia Dortmund. Then came the period in Spain with Valencia on loan as well.
In 2019–20 campaign, Batshuayi was in Frank Lampard’s team and he managed to score just six goals, including another dramatic late winner at Ajax.
He scored 25 goals overall in 77 games for the Blues, has 45 caps for Belgium, and 25 goals overall for his nation.
“We thank Michy for his services to the Blues and wish him well at Fenerbahce.” – Chelsea wrote on their official website.
Thank you and good luck, Michy! 👊
