Falconets forward Mercy Idoko has taken to her social media page to celebrate her first goal of the season for Racing Power FC during their 1a Divisão Women’s game in Portugal.
In a match against Marítimo at the Estádio do Marítimo, she scored a crucial first-half goal that propelled her team to a 2-0 victory. Jenny Vetter, a 24-year-old forward from Racing Almada, also contributed with a goal, Footballrover reports
After a tense start to the game, the 20-year-old Nigerian forward broke the deadlock in the 34th minute. Jenny Vetter found the net during regulation time, securing a comfortable lead and ensuring Racing Power’s victory.
Mercy Idoko didn’t hesitate to share her excitement on her social media page after the game, expressing her joy for both her first goal of the season and the victory.
She praised her teammates for their determination and highlighted their focus on the next game.

This victory was a significant milestone for Mercy Idoko and her team as they had been seeking their first win for four games.
Despite the victory, they currently stand in the third-to-last position with three points, with their opponents, Marítimo, one point ahead in seventh place.
Meanwhile, Mercy Idoko landed for herself, the man-of-the-match award and she was subsequently named in the Portuguese Liga BPI team of the week.
Looking forward, Mercy Idoko and her teammates will now be preparing to face Ouriense at the Centro Desportivo Nacional do Jamor on Sunday as they aim to continue their newfound winning momentum.
