Manchester City defeated Real Madrid 4-3 in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final on Tuesday night at the Etihad Stadium.
Both teams started brightly, but the Premier League side had the upper hand at the interval, leading 2-1.
City took the lead in the second minute through Kevin De Bruyne’s header, before Gabriel Jesus doubled their lead with a close-range goal.
Karim Benzema answered for the visitors with a volley goal to cut the deficit in half to continue his superb form this season.
The Pep Guardiola team dominated the first 30 minutes and appeared to have Madrid on the hooks before Benzema scored the crucial goal.
At the halftime break, the game was still very much in the balance untill Foden doubled the lead yet again for City with an inch-perfect header.

Bernardo Silva scored the game’s best goal, a screamer into the top-left corner, to put the game out of reach at 4-2.
After Aymeric Laporte handled the ball in the box, Benzema doubled his tally of the night from the penalty spot.
With the 4-3 result, it appears that City has a slight lead heading into the second leg at the Bernabeu.
City’s critical contests continue this weekend when they travel to Leeds United in the Premier League.
On the same day, Real Madrid hosts Espanyol in LaLiga in the hopes of securing the title.
