Lobi Stars, gearing up for the 2023-24 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season, have chosen the Lafia City Stadium as their new home turf.
Previously, Lobi Stars played their home matches at the Aper Aku Stadium in Makurdi, but due to ongoing renovations, they’ve decided to temporarily relocate to the Lafia City Stadium.
This stadium has been the traditional home of Nasarawa United, who were relegated from the NPFL. It’s an exciting change of scenery for Lobi Stars as they embark on this new journey in Lafia.
The decision to move to Lafia City Stadium was made after thorough consideration, with both the Benue State Sports Commissioner for Youths and Sports, Hon. Terkimbir Ikyange, and the Lobi Stars management conducting an extensive assessment of the facility.
This move not only ensures Lobi Stars have a suitable home ground but also highlights the importance of maintaining top-notch sporting venues.
In the previous NPFL season (2022-23), Lobi Stars temporarily played their matches at the New Jos Stadium in Plateau State.
The change in venue for the upcoming season gives room for the club to be more committed to providing fans with an enjoyable and safe environment to support their team.
In addition to the change of venue, Lobi Stars are also undergoing a transition in their coaching staff.
Bala Abubakar, who joined the club just two months ago, recently resigned, leaving Lobi Stars and without a head coach on a mutual consent.
Recall that Baba Ganaru also similarly left Lobi Stars in the same way.
This change adds an element of intrigue to their upcoming season as they search for the right individual to lead the team to success.
Stay tuned for more updates on Lobi Stars’ journey in the 2023-24 NPFL season as they look to make their mark in Lafia City Stadium.
