Diogo Jota and Fabinho goal was all Liverpool needed to secure a 2-0 win over Watford during their Premier League clash at Anfield on Saturday afternoon.
The Reds have won their previous nine Premier League games, including a 2-0 win against Arsenal before heading into the game.
Watford, on the other hand, are fighting to stay in the Premier League; they are now 18th and three points from safety, and several of the teams around them have games in hand.

They improved their chances last time out by beating Southampton 2-1 away from home, and they were looking for a similar result this time.
Despite a strong start by Watford, Liverpool led 1-0 at halftime thanks to Jota’s header 22 minutes into the game.

Just 30 seconds earlier, the visitors came close to scoring, but Kucka was excellently saved by Alisson, before the Reds surged up the other end, with Jota meeting a cross from Gomez, who put Liverpool ahead.
Before Fabinho wrapped up the win from the penalty spot late on to secure the win and all three points for the home side.

The final scoreline is favourable for the hosts. Liverpool were not at their best as Watford played very well but failed to take their chances. The Reds will be unconcerned because they have climbed to the top of the table.
Next weekend, Jurgen Klopp’s side will meet Manchester City in a crucial title clash. Watford, meanwhile, are in 18th place, three points from safety, and will face Leeds in their next match.
