Doma United’s goalkeeper, Kingdom Osayi, has been a standout player in this season’s NPFL action, boasting an impressive record of 8 clean sheets in 10 matches.
In the recent clash against Remo Stars, Osayi displayed his exceptional skills, earning the well-deserved title of ‘Man of the Match’, Footballrover reports
His stellar performance ensured Doma United secured a point in their NPFL matchday 10 clash at Ikenne.
With an astounding 540 minutes without conceding a goal, Osayi’s reliability has been a crucial factor in the team’s success.
Osayi currently leads the clean sheet chart, having conceded only 5 goals while securing 2 assists in the 10 matches of NPFL 24.
This surpasses his last season’s commendable record of six clean sheets in 17 NPFL appearances.
Osayi’s consistent form is not only benefiting Doma United but is also positioning him as a strong contender for the Super Eagles for next year’s AFCON in Ivory Coast.
In their recent encounter with the Sky Blue Stars, despite 24 goal attempts, the opponents failed to breach Osayi’s defence, resulting in a goalless draw at the Remo Stars Stadium.
This outcome has solidified Doma United’s standing at the top, extending their unbeaten streak to six consecutive games, marked by four wins and two draws.
This unbeaten run now stands as the longest in NPFL 24.
Coach Akinade Onigbinde attributed this success to meticulous preparation, saying,
“I’ve not been sleeping; I’ve been watching their matches day and night.”
His guidance and the team’s execution have evidently paid off, as evidenced by their excellent performance on the field.
