Joy Omewa is writing her own inspiring story in the Danish elite division, and Saturday’s game against Brøndby IF was yet another thrilling chapter for her.

The Nigerian forward struck once more—her sixth goal in five games—to lead Fortuna Hjørring to a hard-fought 1-1 draw that sealed their championship victory, Footballrover reports.

Though the result didn’t break their recent winless streak, it was more than enough to clinch the Danish elite division title for Fortuna Hjørring, crowning an incredible season for both club and player.

That goal stood until halftime, showing once again why the 22-year-old has become the face of this title campaign.

Despite a quick equaliser from Dajan Hashemi just two minutes after the restart, Fortuna Hjørring held firm to share the spoils—and celebrate a long-awaited championship success.

Omewa now has 18 goals in 1,110 minutes this season and leads the club’s scoring chart with 18 goals in the league—eight more than second-placed Anastasia Pobegailo and twelve ahead of Ashley Riefner.
