Joy Omewa simply can’t stop scoring. The Super Falcons forward is enjoying the most prolific form of her young career, becoming the heartbeat of Fortuna Hjørring’s attack in the Danish Women’s League.
In Fortuna Hjørring’s dramatic 1–1 draw against FC Midtjylland, Joy Omewa once again proved decisive, Footballrover reports.
Joy Omewa Strikes Again as Fortuna Hjørring Rescue Late Draw
The 22-year-old Super Falcons forward found the net in the 95th minute to earn her side a crucial point — her 10th consecutive goal in league action.
The strike not only extended her incredible scoring run but also proves she’s one of Africa’s most lethal young finishers at the moment.
Her latest goal takes her tally to 16 goals in 17 appearances across all competitions, including 10 in the Danish Women’s League.
The victory also means that Omewa and her teammates continue to maintain the second spot on the table with 23 points from 11 games but are now seven points behind table toppers HB Koge.
Week after week, Omewa continues to show composure and confidence in front of goal and is fast becoming one of the standout forwards in European women’s football.
“Hard-fought game last night!
Glad to have found the back of the net, wouldn’t have been possible without the incredible support and teamwork from my teammates.
Everyone gave their all till the final whistle to secure that vital point,” Omewa wrote on her X platform.
From Fortuna Hjørring Heroics to Super Falcons Breakthrough
Omewa’s brilliance at club level recently earned her a well-deserved debut call-up to the Super Falcons of Nigeria.
She made her first appearance against the Amazons of Benin in Lomé, helping Nigeria secure qualification for the 2026 WAFCON in Morocco.
Though she didn’t score, her impact in the qualifiers was clear — her energy, pace, and attacking intent lifted the team and contributed to their 3–1 aggregate victory.
For Fortuna, her consistency has been unmatched. Every performance seems to build on the last, and her ability to find goals from difficult angles or late in matches has given her team an edge in tight contests.
