Super Falcon star Jennifer Echegini has continued her stunning form in Serie A women’s football, adding yet another goal to her tally and helping Juventus secure a thrilling away draw against Inter Milan.
Echegini’s second-half strike was crucial as Juventus fought to a captivating 3-3 draw against FC Internazionale Milano over the weekend, Footballrover reports.
The 22-year-old midfielder, coming off the bench, made a significant impact, scoring in the Women’s Serie A Italian Derby with Inter, despite only playing for 31 minutes.
This goal marked Echegini’s fifth in seven League appearances for Juventus since joining the club in January.
The game unfolded with both teams vying for victory at the Arena Civica Gianni Brera on Sunday afternoon.
Flaminia Simonetti put the home team ahead with a penalty just 17 minutes into the game, but Cristiana Girelli equalised for Juventus seven minutes before halftime.
Inter regained the lead early in the second half through Michela Cambiaghi, but Juventus levelled again in the 58th minute courtesy of Arianna Caruso.
Shortly after, Echegini’s goal gave Juventus the lead for the first time in the game, but Inter responded, with Annamaria Serturini scoring four minutes before full time, resulting in a 3-3 draw.
The draw places Echegini and her teammates in second place on the league table, trailing league leaders Roma by only seven points, while Inter remains in fifth place, 17 points adrift.
Next up for Echegini and Juventus is a home fixture against Fiorentina on Saturday.
