New Chelsea signing Jadon Sancho has revealed his ambition to follow in the footsteps of his football idols and Legends—Frank Lampard and Didier Drogba—at Stamford Bridge.
The England international made the switch from Manchester United to Chelsea on deadline day during the summer transfer window, and he’s eager to make his mark, Footballrover reports.
In a recent interview with the club’s website, Sancho opened up about his admiration for Drogba and Lampard, saying they were the players he looked up to as a youngster.

Now, he’s thrilled to be playing for the same club as his heroes.
Sancho expressed joy over joining Chelsea finally, acknowledging that returning to London, where he grew up, feels fantastic.
Sancho aims to contribute goals and assists at Stamford Bridge.
Sancho couldn’t hide his excitement about his new adventure at Chelsea, especially with the chance to emulate the careers of Lampard and Drogba.
“My idols growing up were Didier Drogba and Frank Lampard, and now I have the opportunity to play for this club like they did. It’s an amazing feeling.”
He also mentioned his familiarity with Chelsea’s head coach, Enzo Maresca, from his time working under Pep Guardiola at Manchester City.

Sancho admitted that Maresca had discussed the project he’s building over the phone, and as a young player, he found it exciting and was eager to get started.
