Hugo Viana, the technical director of Sporting CP, has dismissed rumors that the club will re-sign Cristiano Ronaldo from Manchester United this summer but left the door wide open to reunite with the superstar in the future.It is time for Manchester United to stabilise, rebuild with Cristiano says Sporting CP directo

Ronaldo joined Sporting’s academy at the age of 12, where he started his professional career. He obtained his first transfer to Old Trafford in 2003 after spending a season with their first team and making an impression in a friendly match against the Red Devils.

But Ronaldo’s second tenure with the Red Devils hasn’t been as spectacular, and after just one season back at Man Utd, rumors of a transfer have surfaced, with Chelsea reportedly hoping to sign him.

Footballrover gathered that Ronaldo’s name has been brought up in recent meetings between new Chelsea owner – Todd Boehly and agent Jorge Mendes.

Recently, the 37-year-old has also drawn interest from Roma and Sporting, but Manchester United is convinced that the Real Madrid great will stay at Old Trafford.

However, Sporting’s technical director Viana has observed that the time is not right for the legendary player from Portugal to go back home and that Erik ten Hag should concentrate on rebuilding with him.

I think not now – I don’t think it is possible, but you never know. He can decide where he goes, but you never know the future. I don’t want to talk about that, but he has another year on his contract so whatever he decides, let’s see,” Viana told Sky Sports.

Hugo Viana added that;

It is time for Man Utd to stabilise, to create a good spirit inside the club. I think it is not what’s happening now, but there it always time to rebuild. With Cristiano, of course, there is a player who scores 25 goals per season.”
