Valuejet Cup underdogs Ikorodu City FC have pulled off a sensational victory, defeating NPFL giants Rivers United to book their spot in the tournament final.
The Oga Boys produced a stunning upset at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne on Tuesday morning, crushing Finidi Georgeās Rivers United 3-2 to secure their place in the preseason Cup final, Footballrover reports.
Finidi George and his boys came into the game as heavy favourites, but the Lagos-based newcomers surprisingly sent his army packing.
The Pride of Rivers led Group B with five pointsātwo wins, two drawsāgoing into this semifinal clash.
While their counterparts, the Ikorodu Boys, also came into the game with five points from Group A after two draws and a win.

But it was completely a different ball game at the Remo Stars Stadium as both sides produced a five-goal thriller that had fans entertained from start to finish.
It was the Pride of Rivers who drew first blood.
Kabiru Abdullahi, the young sensation who has been lighting up the preseason, unleashed a thunderbolt from distance that left the Ikorodu City goalkeeper with no chance. 
The Lagos boys responded with cold vengeance. Oyedokun Tosin, with the composure of a seasoned forward, levelled the scores, igniting wild celebrations among his teammates.
Just before the halftime whistle, Emmanuel Solomon, introduced as a substitute, completed the turnaround with a clinical finish that sent the Rivers United camp into shock.
The second half kicked off, and Rivers United, desperate to salvage their pride, threw everything forward. 
Their efforts were rewarded when Emmanuel Nnaji capitalised on a goalmouth scramble to pull the back into the game.
Yet, the game was far from over, as the tension in the stadium increased.
However, it was Ikorodu City who had the final say.
Waliu Ojetoye’s pinpoint pass found Emmanuel Solomon, who calmly slotted home his double to seal a historic victory for his side.
