PDRM FC snatched a dramatic 2-1 victory over their visitors courtesy of a brace of assists from Japanese forward Bruno Suzuki.
Ifedayo Olusegun was the star of the hour, converting Suzuki’s early cross to give the home side a dream start after just nine minutes at the MBPJ Stadium.
Kuala Lumpur City refused to be cowed, however, and found an equaliser through Jovan Motika shortly after the restart.
The visitors looked to have snatched a point, but PDRM FC had other ideas.
Another pinpoint pass from Suzuki found Fadi Mahmoud Awad Saleh, who restored the lead with 20 minutes remaining.
The game took a dramatic turn when Safiee Ahmad was sent off for his misconduct, leaving PDRM FC to battle with ten men for the final 18 minutes.
Despite the numerical disadvantage, they held on for a thrilling victory.
Olusegun was replaced by Aliff Najmi late in the game as PDRM FC clung to their slender lead.
His fellow countrymen, Faith Obilor and Aremu Timothy, will surely be delighted as they also played a vital role in the win.
The sparse crowd of 364 fans witnessed the thrilling encounter that leaves PDRM FC in sixth place with 11 points, 11 adrift of league leaders Johor DT.
Olusegun and his teammates will be hoping to build on this momentum as they look to climb the table.
