The 2025 President Federation Cup semifinals are set to go down this Saturday, and Ibom Angels players have openly revealed that they are leaving no doubt about their readiness.
First-choice goalkeeper Godstime Dickson has voiced the team’s confidence ahead of their crucial encounter against Rivers Angels, Footballrover reports.
Ibom Angels’ solid preparation for President FA Cup clash
Speaking to the club’s media, Dickson emphasised the thorough preparation undertaken by Ibom Angels, both physically and mentally, for this significant challenge at the Enyimba stadium later tomorrow.
“We’re not leaving any stone unturned,” declared Dickson. “We’re ready to give our best to scale through to the final of this year’s competition.”
The confident goalkeeper, who notably made two critical penalty saves against Heartland Queens FC in the quarterfinals, acknowledged the unpredictable nature of penalty shootouts.
“When it comes to penalty kicks, it’s no man’s game – it’s 50-50. But I will always do my best,” he asserted.
Dickson also rallied the Ibom Angels supporters, assuring them of the team’s commitment.
“I am assuring our dear fans that they should not relent in giving the team their regular maximum support, as we will get there for real. With our preparations for this crucial match so far, I know we can make it as we are prepared for the fight.”
The highly anticipated semifinal of the President Federation Cup is scheduled for 1 pm at the Enyimba International Stadium.
History adds another layer of intrigue to this matchup, as the Uyo ladies and Rivers Angels have previously clashed in the finals of this very competition in 2017 and 2018, with Rivers Angels emerging victorious on both occasions.
The Jewels of Rivers reached this stage by overcoming Remo Ladies 3-1 in a penalty shootout.
Goal-scoring prowess of Ibom Angels in the Federation Cup
The Uyo Angels boast a formidable attack, with Abasiofon Uwah leading the scoring charts with an impressive 7 goals.
Ijeoma Onweangba follows with 5 goals. Other key contributors include Ayishat Raheem, Victory Jacob, and Ugobest Osuji, each with 2 goals, and Eyitemi Omagbemi with 1 goal.
This firepower will be crucial as Ibom Angels aim to overcome Rivers Angels in their quest to reach the President FA Cup final.
