Lokosa had an exceptional season with Sai Masu Gida in 2018, where he scored over 19 goals, earning him the top scorer award for that season.
The 30-year-old forward, who refrained from celebrating his goals, described the moment as “emotional.”
He also mentioned that he was pleased to silence his critics, particularly on X (formerly Twitter), and emphasized that he was simply doing his job.
Lokosa went on to express gratitude to the fans for their support throughout the match.
“I felt very happy scoring for my team Sporting Lagos. Kano Pillars is also my team. The name I have today is from Kano Pillars. It is emotional for me, and I feel pained, but this is my job. I want to appreciate the fans for their support throughout the encounter,” the striker said.
Lokosa has now scored three goals in the NPFL this season and will be anticipating their upcoming match against relegation struggling side Heartland of Owerri on Sunday.
