The club expressed deep regret that their efforts were insufficient, despite the significant support they received from the Governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodinma, and other football stakeholders.

They specifically apologised to Governor Uzodinma, Imo football stakeholders, and their devoted fans for failing to maintain their status in the NPFL.

The club also recognised the support from the Imo Sports Commissioner, Honourable Obinna Onyeocha, the Imo FA led by Barrister Ifeanyi Dike, and other stakeholders.

Despite the current sadness, Heartland FC appealed for unity, urging everyone to “sheath their swords and work together to build the team of our dreams.”

They expressed optimism for the future, suggesting that this setback could inspire learning and a stronger comeback.

Quoting the adage, “Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning,” they pledged their commitment to “rejig our club and return smiles to the faces of Imolites fans and our beloved supporters” after this humiliating NPFL exit.

While Heartland FC has offered its apology for the humiliating NPFL exit, the question remains whether the passionate fanbase will readily forgive and rally behind the club as they aim for a return to the top tier.
