Nigerian Eagles have been crowned Gothia Cup 2025 Boys 16 champions after an incredible 3-0 win over American side Maryland Bobcats FC in the final played at the iconic Gamla Ullevi stadium in Gothenburg, Sweden.

The Lagos-based side completed a perfect tournament run—winning all 9 games, scoring 31 goals, and conceding just 6, Footballrover reports.
They now lift the Gothia Puma Trophy after they sealed their place among the best youth teams on the international stage.
Mustapha, Salami Shine in Final Showdown for Nigeria Eagles
The final was decided within the first 30 minutes as Shamsu Mustapha fired the Nigerian side ahead just two minutes into the match.

He added a second in the 13th minute before Mubarak Adisa wrapped up the scoring in the 27th minute to make it a commanding 3-0 victory.
Both Shamsu Mustapha and Fawaz Salami ended the tournament with 10 goals apiece, finishing as the team’s joint top scorers.
Dominance from Group Stage to Glory
The Gothia Cup 2025 B16 category featured 193 teams from 28 countries, split into 48 groups.

The young Eagles were placed in Group 4, where they topped the group with three commanding wins:
4-2 vs. LSS Academy
5-0 vs. Vellinge IF
4-0 vs. Österåker United FK 1
After securing first place in their group, the Nigerian side entered Playoff A, where they continued their dominance—knocking out every opponent en route to the final.

Their clinical finishing, defensive discipline, and tactical maturity stood out throughout the competition.
