Super Eagles forward Gift Orban continues to impress ahead of the 2025/26 season as he netted a crucial opener to help Hoffenheim cruise past Werder Bremen in a dominant 3-0 friendly win on Friday.

The 23-year-old Nigerian forward has now scored in two preseason matches, showing early signs of a big campaign loading, Footballrover reports.
Hoffenheim Dominate as Gift Orban Leads the Charge
The match, held at the Silberstadt Arena Schwaz, saw a quiet first half with both Hoffenheim and Bremen unable to break the deadlock. But that changed just after halftime.
Barely a minute into the second half, Orban displayed his sharp instincts, netting the opener to give his team a deserved lead.

Four minutes later, Wouter Burger doubled their advantage, capping a powerful start to the half.
Orban played just 62 minutes before being replaced by Ihlas Bebou, having already made his mark. Alexander Prass added the third goal late on to seal a comfortable win.
Orban’s Preseason Form Signals a Big 2025/26 Season
This isn’t the first time Orban has come up big for Die Kraichgauer in preseason. He previously scored in their 3-2 win over Freiburg and featured during their 4-0 win over Homburg.
The Kraichgauer’s preseason record now stands at four wins, with one more friendly against Metz scheduled for August 9, just before the Bundesliga campaign kicks off.

Four Nigerians were actually involved as Die Kraichgauer cruised to a 3-0 victory over Die Werderaner.
While Orban stole the spotlight, Kevin Akpoguma anchored the defence before being replaced by Chukwu Emmanuel, and Benjamin Precious remained on the bench throughout.
The early signs are promising for Orban, who looks set to be a key figure in The Kraichgauer’s attack this season.
With his goal-scoring form peaking, the Nigerian forward might be one of the Bundesliga stars to watch.
