In the Matchday 8 showdown at SeatGeek Stadium on Saturday, the 23-year-old came off the bench to score the match-winning goal, sealing a crucial 3–2 victory for Washington Spirit, Footballrover reports.

Introduced in the 62nd minute to replace Brittany Ratcliffe, Gift Monday needed just 21 minutes to change the game.
With the score tied at 2–2 and time running out, she latched onto a pinpoint pass from Rosemonde Kouassi in the 83rd minute and clinically slotted home the winner—her third goal in just five appearances for the Spirit.
Her performance was not just about the goal. In just 28 minutes of action, she registered 16 touches, made three recoveries, completed all her passes with 100% accuracy, won 100% of her tackles, and dominated four ground duels.

Super Falcons star scores again as Washington Spirit bounce back
The match itself was an end-to-end attacking game.
Washington Spirit took an early lead in the 31st minute after Allyson Schlegel’s own goal, but Chicago Stars quickly leveled through Julia Grosso just five minutes later.
Rosemonde Kouassi restored the Spirit’s advantage before halftime, only for Samantha Staab to make it 2-2 early in the second half.
But just when a draw seemed inevitable, Gift Monday stepped up again—scoring in her second consecutive game and lifting Washington Spirit back into winning form after back-to-back losses against NJ/NY Gotham FC and Angel City FC.
Now third on the NWSL table with 15 points from eight games, the Spirit are surging with momentum—and their Super Falcons star is right at the heart of it.
