In an early morning match at Melbourne Rectangular Stadium in Australia, two-time Women’s World Cup champions, Germany, demonstrated their dominance by defeating Morocco 6-0 in the Group H opener.
During the first half, Germany took the lead with two goals scored by Alexandra Popp in the 11th and 39th minutes.
In the second half, Klara Buhl extended the lead to three in the 46th minute, followed by Hanane Ait Haj adding a fourth goal for Germany in the 54th minute.

Yasmin Katie Mrabet managed to score the fifth goal for Germany, and in the 90th minute of the second half, Lea Schuler completed the rout with the sixth goal, leaving Morocco with a crushing defeat.
In another match from Group G, Italy secured a narrow victory against Argentina at Eden Park, Auckland, New Zealand.
The sole goal of the match was scored by Cristiana Girelli in the 87th minute of the second half.
At the other end, Brazil started off their opening game with an emphatic victory over Panama. The Female Canaries cruised to a stunning four unreplied goals to make a huge statement at the World Cup.

Though it was a tough start for the African representatives, they will have more chances to redeem themselves in the upcoming matches of the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
