Fans weren’t afraid to display their disappointment at Bayern Munich’s poor performance in their DFB-Pokal cup match against Freiburg where they were beaten by a narrow margin.
Goals from Nicolas Höfler and Lucas Höler cancelled out Bayern’s earlier goal to help Freiburg edge out the Thomas Tuchel side from the competition with a 2-1 victory.
Freiburg put in a spirited performance and played with confidence in the quater-final clash as they rallied from a goal down to steal the victory at the Allianz Arena on Tuesday night.

Despite having Dayot Upamecano give the home side the lead, the Thomas Tuchel’s team managed to get themselves eliminated from the highly rated competition.
A stunning goal by Nicolas Hofler for Freiburg brought the score even, and it appeared that extra time might be inevitable.
However, Holer scored a calm goal in stoppage time to give the visitors the victory after Jamal Musiala was called for a handball in the penalty area that prevented Hofler’s initial shot from going in.

At the very last moment, Lucas Holer calmly converted from the spot to advance Freiburg—rather than Bayern Munich, the match’s favorites—into the DFB Pokal semifinals.
In a twist of fate, the two teams will still clash once more this weekend outside the DFB-Pokal cup, but in the Bundesliga when Freiburg hosts Bayern. This time, it might be payback time.
