Although many Chelsea supporters are still unsure as to how he would help the team and how he will enhance Thomas Tuchel’s side once he officially arrives at Stamford Bridge.

The Everton academy-bred Gordon made his Premier League debut in January 2020 and spent the second half of the 2020–21 season on loan at Preston North End.

After that, the 21-year-old had a breakthrough season in 2021–2022, solidifying his spot in the starting lineup and taking home the Everton Men’s Players’ Player of the Year honor.

Many Chelsea fans were relieved when Everton declined a second £45 million bid for the England under-21 international.

Despite interest from other teams, Anthony Gordon is a vital player to the Everton team, according to Frank Lampard, who also acknowledges that they are evaluating bids for Dele Alli.

The Everton manager said that he cannot promise Anthony Gordon would remain at Everton despite Chelsea’s interest, but yet views Gordon as a crucial member of his team.

While speaking during his press conference, Everton manager – Frank Lampard had this to say about Anthony Gordon’s situation at Everton.

🗣️ “He’s in the squad for tomorrow. He’s our player, we need him here. Anthony has a huge value to team – he’s key player for me. I consider him a massive player. 100% staying here? I can’t assure anybody, that’s naive.” -Lampard said.

Chelsea has recently struggled to find excellent finishers, so if signing Gordon does not help them right away, it might be detrimental to them in the long run.
