According to Barcelona president Joan Laporta, agreements to sign free agents Franck Kessie and Andreas Christensen have been finalized.
Following the conclusion of the 2021/22 season, the contracts of both players at Chelsea and AC Milan, respectively, came to an end.
Both players have already expressly agreed to their contracts and passed their medical tests. Xavi claims that Franck KessiΓ©’s abilities will astound everyone.
He has a totally distinct profile from the other midfielders at Barça and he will also be tested as a pivot even though he was signed as an interior player, Xavi noted.
Franck Kessie enjoyed a successful five-season stint at Milan, netting six league goals in 31 appearances to help the team win its first Scudetto in almost ten years.
Franck Kessieβs Serie A season by numbers (31 games):
6 goals
88% pass accuracy
84% acc. opposition half
73% Successful Dribbles
0 error leading to goal
1.7 interceptions

77% tackle success

Andreas Christensen, on the other end, left Chelsea after bringing home the UEFA Champions League and FIFA Club World Cup, respectively, in the previous season.
The 26-year-old Danish defender in an emotional message to Chelsea and fans said;
βI was a young boy at Chelsea with all the hopes and fears of a player starting his career. Mentally the last few months have been tough. Iβm not the most talkative person so sometimes people donβt understand how much the club and the fans mean to me.”
In an interview, Laporta announced the additions and the dates on which they will be introduced as Barcelona players.
βWe will present KessiΓ© on Wednesday and Christensen on Thursday,” he said.
Franck KessiΓ© and Andreas Christensen had been on BarΓ§a’s radar for a while, and after moving to the club in November, Xavi granted his final consent to sign them.
