The struggles continue for Finidi George’s Rivers United as the former Super Eagles coach watches their Nigeria Premier Football League title challenge falter in recent times.
After battling hard in their last seven outings, Finidi has only managed to guide the Garden City side to one win, three draws, and three defeats, raising concerns about their form, Footballrover reports.

NPFL leaders Remo Stars have now pulled eight points clear, leaving the oil-rich club desperate for a turnaround.
Despite the setbacks, the Rivers boss remains hopeful of a positive result in their next match against Akwa United.
The PH City side will be hosted by the Promise Keepers at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo, on Wednesday.
The Port Harcourt outfit is eager to bounce back after a 1-0 defeat to Enyimba at the Elephant Park last weekend.
Despite the narrow loss, Finidi was pleased with his team’s performance and believes they can achieve a better result in Uyo.
However, he insists there is only one way for the Fubara boys to claim maximum points in the South-South derby.
Can the Pride of Rivers bounce back against Akwa United?
According to Finidi George, if the PH boys maintains their current performance, they can secure a win or at least earn a positive result against their rivals.
“I think that if we play this way, we are going to win. So, I am quite optimistic. If we can replicate this same performance in Uyo, I think we will win or at least come back with something. I’m quite positive,” he told the club’s media.
Currently fourth on the league table with 38 points from 24 games, the former NPFL champions must improve quickly to keep their title hopes alive.
