The encounter between Barcelona and Napoli ended in a draw, amid a one-way second half, Barca were unable to capitalize to Torres’ equalizer and win the game.
In the second half, Napoli’s performance started to decline, but they held on tight at the back to go into the second leg tied at 1-1.
The Spanish giants will believe they ought to have won the match, and they probably would have if their attack hadn’t been so clumsy.
Ferran Torres may well have grabbed Barcelona’s equalizer from the penalty spot, but his effort in front of goal was uneven.
Despite completing two important passes and losing the ball a game-high 20 times, the former Manchester City man’s goal was his sole shot on goal from 9 attempts.

It’s still early days, but with displays like those, his future at Camp Nou can only grow better.
Both sides are looking forward to the second leg, and with the away goals rule being abolished in this season’s competition, the 1-1 draw in Catalonia means it will be honours level when the two teams meet again in Naples.
Barcelona have now failed to keep a clean sheet in each of their last five games at Camp Nou.

Napoli know they were fortunate to escape with a point, but they will improve their chances at home against a Barcelona side still rediscovering their feet after Xavi’s massive rebuilding project.
