The 28-year-old, who only made six Premier League appearances last season and scored two goals in those six, mutually ended his contract with the Blues last month.

The Englishman moved to Stamford Bridge in 2017 after his time at Everton, but from 2020 till his departure from Chelsea, his playing time dropped considerably, leading to a loan stint with Aston Villa.

The former Chelsea star will don the number eleven jersey at OGC Nice, which was left vacant by Amine Gouiri after his exit from the club to Rennes.

Meanwhile, the French team has been bringing in players with significant Premier League experience, including Aaron Ramsey and Kasper Schmeichel, who joined the club earlier this summer as free agents.
