An own goal by Uganda defender helped the Flying Eagles of Nigeria book a spot in U-20 World Cup and also guaranteed a place for the team in the Semi-finals of U-20 CAF Africa Cup Of Nations In Egypt.
The Nigerian side defeated Hippos of Uganda 1-0 to qualify for semifinal of the ongoing AYC in Egypt and for their 13th appearance at the FIFA U20 World Cup billed for Indonesia 20th May – 11th June.

Ugandan defence immersed in 30th minutes of the first half to concede the own goal after intense attack from the Flying Eagles forward line.
Ibrahim Juma deflected own goal put the Flying Eagles in the ascendancy at the end of the first 45 minutes.
Despite the first half own goal, Uganda was the better team for the greater part of the second half as the team played with precision, good positional play, and ball control.
The Ugandan team was unlucky not to have drawn level in the process.
Flying Eagles were not convincing despite leading with their uncoordinated and disjointed passes which later improved.
Flying Eagles’ Rilwanu Sarki, and Sunday Jude who substituted Olamilekan Adams in 70th minutes of the second half put up outstanding performances in the quarter final match against the Ugandans.
Abel Ogwuche was solid in the heart of defense for Flying Eagles which saw him win the Man of the Match top prize.

Flying Eagles will meet the winner of the quarter final match between Gambia and South Sudan.
