Fisayo Dele-Bashiru scored two goals on his debut as Hatayspor stormed to a resounding away victory during their Superlig game at the Ümraniye Şehir Stadium.
Thanks to a brace from the 22-year-old Nigerian forward, Hatayspor secured a 5-1 win against Pendikspor on Saturday to start off their league campaign on top of the table.
The lopsided match kicked off with a quick strike from Carlos Strandberg barely three minutes in, setting the tone for the Volkan Demirel side.
Before German midfielder Görkem Sağlam extended the lead for the visitors 20 minutes later.
Bertug Yildirim added to the excitement with his goal just before halftime, taking Hatayspor’s lead to an impressive 3-0.
And the momentum continued into the second half, with Dele-Bashiru grabbing his brace in the 57th and 85th minutes to complete the rout.
Despite a late effort from Pendikspor, who managed to pull one back through Rosario Thuram’s goal in stoppage time, the match ended in favor of Hatayspor with a convincing 5-1 victory.
The home team’s consolation goal couldn’t dampen the spirits of their devoted fans, who had already experienced heartbreak throughout the match.
Fisayo Dele-Bashiru and his teammates will looking to build on this huge win when they face Kasımpaşa next in front of their home fans at the Mersin Stadyumu Stadium on Saturday.
