Fisayo Dele-Bashiru’s Key Assist Sparks Lazio Comeback

The 25-year-old Nigerian international delivered his first goal contribution of the season as Lazio battled from behind to ultimately secure a penalty shootout victory.

Since returning from the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco, Dele-Bashiru’s playing time has been limited.

In his last four appearances, he featured for only nine minutes against Como, 26 minutes against Lecce, nine minutes against Genoa, and 45 minutes against Juventus.

Limited Minutes, Maximum Impact

In his 12th appearance of the season, Dele-Bashiru was handed his fifth start—and he made it count.

Santiago Castro had initially given Bologna the lead in the 30th minute, but just three minutes into the second half, Dele-Bashiru combined brilliantly with Tijjani Noslin to level the score.

The match ultimately went to penalties, where Lazio demonstrated their composure.

Nuno Tavares, Boulaye Dia, Adam Marusic, and Kenneth Taylor all converted their spot-kicks, while Lewis Ferguson and Riccardo Orsolini missed for Bologna, giving Lazio a 4-1 shootout victory.
