Scott Parker has just been sacked as Bournemouth coach β the first Premier League manager to be gone too soon in the 2022/23 campaign.
Only a few days after the Cherries’ record-equaling Premier League loss to Liverpool, Bournemouth has parted ways with manager Scott Parker.
Parker led Bournemouth back to the Premier League with a 2-0 winning start to the season against Aston Villa. However, Liverpool’s 9-0 loss was their third straight disappointing outing.
With Tommy Elphick and Shaun Cooper serving as assistant coaches, Gary O’Neil has been appointed as interim head coach.
AFC Bournemouth can announce that the club has parted company with head coach Scott Parker.

Maxim Demin, the owner of Bournemouth, issued a statement in which he expressed his appreciation to Scott and his colleagues for their work while they were working for the club.
βOur promotion back to the Premier League last season under his tenure will always be remembered as one of the most successful seasons in our history. However, in order for us to keep progressing as a team and a club as a whole, it is unconditional that we are aligned in our strategy to run the club sustainably.” – he said.
The Bournemouth owner further stressed that;
βWe must also show belief in and respect for one another. That is the approach that has brought this club so much success in recent history, and one that we will not veer from now. Our search for a new head coach will begin immediately.β
Last season, the 41-year-old manager led Bournemouth to automatic promotion from the Championship, but his exit from the club is the Premier League’s quickest managerial departure since 2004.
Parker, who was also a former Midfielder for Tottenham, left Fulham to become the manager of Bournemouth 14 months ago, and in that time, guided them to the Premier League after finishing second to his old team.
Parker had been skeptical of Bournemouth’s transfer dealings, but following the club’s humiliating loss to Liverpool on Saturdayβthe newly promoted team’s third defeat in as many games this seasonβit was time to let go.
The Cherries are currently 16th in the Premier League table and will now be looking to host Wolves on Wednesday night.
