Finidi George reflects on missed chances and defensive lapse

After the match, Finidi George acknowledged that his team had opportunities to secure all three points but ultimately had to settle for a draw.

It was a good game. I thought we could have won it, but it didn’t happen. The players gave their best, but a slight defensive mistake allowed them to equalize,” Finidi stated.

He also pointed out a key missed opportunity in the second half.

There was a moment where our striker could have finished better, but it didn’t go our way. In the end, we played with one man less and managed to hold on for a point.”

While he had hoped for maximum points, Finidi was satisfied with the outcome.

Considering how the game unfolded, I believe it’s a well-deserved point,” he concluded.

The result keeps Rivers United in third place, while Akwa United continue to struggle in the relegation zone.
