In the semi-final clash against Benin Republic at Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi, the Falconets emerged victorious with a commanding 3-0 win.

Amina Bello opened the scoring for the Falconets in the 23rd minute of the first half, adding her third goal of the tournament.

Esther Onyenezide had an earlier missed attempt in the fifth minute but later made it 2-0 through a penalty before halftime, courtesy of a foul on Flourish Sabastine.

Chidinma Ogbuchi came close to scoring with a header in the second half but was unsuccessful.

In the 62nd minute, Esther Onyenezide scored her second goal with an excellent assist from Taiwo Afolabi.

Despite Amina Bello’s effort to secure a brace in the 66th minute, it was saved by the Beninois goalkeeper.

The final whistle confirmed a resounding 3-0 victory for the Falconets after 90 minutes of play.

Following the match, Taiwo Afolabi took to her social media account to express her admiration for her teammates, highlighting their outstanding performance.

“Another huge performance from us as we reach the final of the Wafu B U20 tournament after defeating Benin Republic.”

The Falconets will now face the host nation, Ghana, in the finals of the inaugural edition of the sub-regional Women’s U-20 Football Championship.
