On matchday five of the Nigeria Professional Football League, Tamara and his teammates crushed Akwa United 2-1 at the Lekan Salami Stadium on Wednesday.

Wasiu Alalade fired the hosts ahead barely 15 minutes into the game before Cyril Olisemah pulled his visiting Akwa United side back into contest in 69th minute.

And just four minutes before stoppage time, Muritala Oriyomi Lawal banged in another goal to secure the victory and all three points for Kwara United, who were on the verge of recording their third draw of the season.

Ezekiel Tamara, 22, has had a significant impact on the Kwara United team, helping them secure their first victory in five games after losing two and managed to secure two draws this season.

The defensive midfielder celebrated their success on his official Twitter page, acknowledging that they faced a very challenging opponent but vowed to build on the win.

First win of the season.. Though it should have come much more early, but we are going to build on this win against a very difficult opponents. @KwaraUnitedFC.” – he said.

With only five points from five games, Kwara United are now in eighth place in NPFL Group A standings. They will be aiming to maintain their winning streak when they travel to face Plateau United.
