In a heartwarming gesture this festive season, Chibuike Nwaiwu, currently plying his trade at Austrian Bundesliga side Wolfsberger AC, decided to give back to his community in Imo State.

Rather than focusing on the usual holiday celebrations, the 21-year-old Nigerian midfielder turned his attention to the widows in his hometown, distributing food items to ease their struggles during difficult times.

Nwaiwu, who also plays as a centre-back for Wolfsberger AC, explained his decision by saying that mothers are simply very special.

The ex-NPFL star explained that distributing Christmas gifts is just another means of spreading happiness this holiday period and providing support to those who need it the most.

“This is my own way of showing love and sharing the joy of Christmas,” he said as quoted by Didi Phina Ojogwu, the sportsmama.

The former Enyimba midfielder, who joined Wolfsberger AC earlier this year, has made a notable impact on the pitch, featuring in 11 games, scoring one, and providing an assist in just 768 minutes of play.

Though currently enjoying his holiday in Nigeria, Chibuike Nwaiwu remains focused on his football career and future ambitions.

As Wolfsberger AC sits in 4th place in the Austrian Bundesliga, just 10 points behind leaders Sturm Graz, Nwaiwu will be hoping to put in work both on and off the field.
