After both sides’ first halves of the game finished without a goal, the victory over the Gunners was earned the hard way.

Arsenal conceded four corner kicks in the opening two minutes (20–22 minutes) of the half, making Everton unquestionably the more daring of the two teams.

James Tarkowski of Everton scored the game-winning goal in the 60th minute to give Everton their first victory of the 2022–2023 football season as they kept up the pressure in the second half.

It’s a wonderful start for new manager Dyche, who saw his team waste a lot of chances before Tarkowski headed in the game-winning goal in the 60th minute.

They used some outstanding late-game defending to see out the contest and secure all three points, frustrating Arteta’s team and handing them only their second league loss of the season.

The victory supposedly moves Everton up to 17 position, slightly away from the relegation zone, in the English Premier League standings.

The Gunners remain in first place, but City can cut the deficit to to two points with a victory away at Tottenham on Sunday. Everton supporters will be hoping that victory will serve as the motivation in their drive against the relegation.
