Eriksen returns with a bang as Chelsea suffers shameful defeat vs Brentford

Christian Eriksen returned to his football career with a bang as his goal helped Brentford seal a 4-1 win over Thomas Tuchel Chelsea during their Premier League game at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.Eriksen returns with a bang as Chelsea suffers shameful defeat vs Brentford

The visitors started well as Toney sent two shots over the bar for the visitors, forcing Mendy into a nice low stop on both occasions.

Chelsea had a while to get going, but as the half progressed, they got closer.

Raya spectacularly pushed Ziyech’s attempt over the bar before denying Alonso from a late corner.

Frustrated Tuchel had hoped for a far better second half performance, and the Blues broke the deadlock just three minutes later.

Rudiger scored a spectacular goal to put the Blues ahead, with no Brentford defenders closing him down.

With his initial touch, he cuts inside, looks up, and then takes aim; the ball drops over the defenders in front of him, beating Raya as it bounces against the inside of the post and in.

And the Blues fell apart after then as Brentford came from behind to shock Chelsea with a 4-1 win.

Brentford equalised through Janelt just two minutes after Rudiger’s goal, and Eriksen put them ahead not long after a superb counter-attack.

Janelt added his second of the game with a beautiful chip over Mendy from a tight angle, before Wissa came off the bench to complete the scoring for the Bees.

A very shameful defeat it was for the Blues at Stamford Bridge as Brentford secured their first win over the Blues since 1999.
