In the midst of his team’s dreadful performance against Liverpool in the Premier League on Sunday, Erik Ten Hag has clearly failed to come up with the right words to describe it, Instead, he claimed its a long story.
Manchester United only managed to put an end to their misery thanks to the full-time whistle, after Jurgen Klopp’s men have crushed them 7-0 at Anfield.
The Reds found back of the net seven times without a reply, in a thrilling game at Anfield that was both incredibly embarrassing and heartbreaking for Manchester United and their fans.
It was Red Devil’s worst defeat since April 1926 and also their worst under the leadership of the current Manager, Erik Ten Hag.

In this match, Manchester United’s star goal scorer – Marcus Rashford was entirely overshadowed by a Liverpool team that was highly nimble and well-organized.
In the historic, crushing victory for the Reds, Gakpo, Nunez, and Salah all scored twice, and Firmino joined in late with a clever move and finish after it was believed the forward would be departing Anfield at the end of the season.
Before halftime, United was undoubtedly the superior team, but they were completely outclassed after the break. Erik Ten Hag was furious, claiming his players failed to do what they were supposed to do.
Hear him speak to the team media with so much disappointment:

With a game left to play, Liverpool now sits in fifth position in the Premier League standings, three points behind fourth-placed Tottenham.
The Reds made a message about their aspirations for the Champions League, but the club’s faithful will be more focused on the prestige acquired in that second half since United won’t soon forget this visit to Anfield.

“I am surprised because I have seen the last weeks and months this team is resilient and has a winning attitude. Second half we didn’t have a winning attitude at all. We didn’t stick to the plan and we didn’t do our jobs. Yes, I’m angry. Definitely.” – Erik Ten Hag
