The People’s Elephant have built a formidable wall in front of goal, with goalkeeper Ojo Olorunleke playing a crucial role in this achievement, Footballrover reports.

Throughout the 2023–24 NPFL season, Enyimba faced a couple of penalty kicks, but somehow, their opponents failed to convert their attempts.

According to Opta Nigeria

Enyimba were the only team that didn’t concede a goal from the penalty spot in the 2023–24 NPFL. The opposing teams failed to convert any of the two penalties awarded, with Ojo Olorunleke in goal.

The Wall of Aba clearly sent a message to their opponents: scoring penalties against Enyimba is no easy task.

  • Enyimba FC becomes the first team to concede zero penalty goals in NPFL history
  • Goalkeeper Ojo Olorunleke plays a crucial role in this achievement
  • Enyimba finishes the season in third place with 63 points
  • The team secures a CAF Confederations Cup spot

The team’s goalkeeper has been a key factor in their success this season, guiding the team to a CAF Confederations Cup spot after their 2-0 win over Plateau United.

The Abia state team will now join the league champions, Rangers International and Remo Stars, to represent Nigeria on the continent next season.

However, while the other two teams will feature in the Champions League, Enyimba will participate in the CAF Confederation Cup.

And of course, this historic achievement is a fitting recognition of their hard work.

Unfortunately for Enyimba, their star goalkeeper, Ojo Olorunleke, will be leaving the Aba-based team at the end of his contract.

His contribution to the team’s success will not be forgotten, and his family expressed their appreciation to Enyimba for the love shown during his time with the People’s Elephant.

Olorunleke, who was in tears after playing his last game for Enyimba over the weekend, will now be joining his new teammates at Sudanese side, Al Merrikh.
